Beautifully stated, Fabrice. One of the things that's been so depressing about this political moment, at least here in DC, is seeing how little reverence there is in this political climate for civil servants. They're some of the most wonderful people I know. I'm nostalgic for my childhood in Washington, when things felt more "stable", in no small part because of their steady hand.
While entrepreneurial and business prowess are fine, perhaps we may amplify the messages from role models who share social and civic responsibility goals — Lebron James, Greta Thunberg, David Hogg to name a few. There are lessons for the role citizens and government may play for the better of society.
Fabrice C Houdart, you could easily substitute the term "man" with "leader" after business...
It's a word that is used almost too much and generally refers to a role or a level one has in a company. In addition to its heavy usage, we seem to miss that leadership should be much more about behavior than titles.
Yes, we've glamorized leaders given wealth and rarely look at what's beneath that facade.
i think of the role of the "businessman" when bathroom bills were set to become law in Indiana and North Caroline in 2015-2016. Behavoirs I saw then included courage and conviction. Today, it's hard to see those attributes.
We see a lot of these "businessmen" flocking to places like Cannes, Davos and other global gatherings. And there are certainly business reasons for doing so. But I wonder if they flock as much to small towns and inner cities -- not to strut their stuff, but to listen. And listen more. And see leadership that they can be inspired by.
You are right on Fabrice.
Merci

Forget the African thing that is a storm in a tea cup.
Propaganda is every where and has been for many years.
Mark my words you will be controlled in what ever you do.
Only the top elite will be able to do or move in the future.
It is called smart communism and a new world order. Reset what ever.
The Davos meeting confirms this.
Trump is part of that.
Communism run be few and control the many
I was certainly not advocating for communism, but running the world like a business seems to be equally extremist!
